SoundCraft Si2 - 48 Channel Digital Audio
Mixer
The Si2 comes in a smaller footprint than
its bigger brother and has 48 mic inputs
mapped on 24 faders (the Si3 has 64 inputs),
but this is where the differences end. Si2,
like the Si3 has four dedicated Stereo Line
channels, four dedicated FX Returns from the
four stereo Lexicon FX processors, 8
balanced insert sends and 8 balanced insert
returns. Si2 is complete with 24 Group/Aux
busses available at all times, 8 matrix
busses and a full compliment of monitor
talkback and main bus outputs. One of the
most unique and compelling features of the
Si series is that every input and output has
its own dedicated input (output) socket on
the back of the console.

Allen & Heath GL-2400/24 Mixer
The GL2400 has a third master fader, which
can be configured to create a center-fill or
sub-bass mix from Aux 6, a mono sum of the
LR mix, or a monitor wedge output. All
channels have pre/post fader aux switching,
and in Monitor mode, all auxes are available
on faders with mutes, inserts, meters and XLR
drive. One of the key features of the GL2400
is the new 7x4 matrix, which provides extra
output flexibility. In FOH mode, independent
fill speaker and acoustics compensated
recording feeds can be created, while in
Monitor Mode, the matrix offers more monitor
outputs from the groups and LR with added
ambience for in-ear applications.

Mackie SR-24 24 Channel Mixer
The SR24.4-VLZ PRO has 20 mono mic/line
channels with XDR mic preamps PLUS 2 special
line level channel strips. Equalization on the
SR-VLZ PRO Series mixers is very versatile.
Besides the fact that Mackie's Hi and Lo
shelving EQ are centered at useful frequencies -
12kHz - the SR24.4-VLZ PRO has sweepable
midrange EQ (on mono channels). You can center
the midrange anywhere from 100Hz to 8kHz, low
enough to use as a second low frequency EQ, and
high enough to use in the high frequency range.
(Stereo channels on mixer has 4-band EQ, with
12kHz and 80Hz Hi and Lo shelving EQ, and 2
fixed mids at 3kHz and 800Hz). And a low cut
filter (on mono channels) centered at 75Hz
allows you to cut out mic thumps and wind noise
that can enter your mix and rob you of amplifier
power.
